Libraries
Arduino libraries add support for displays, sensors and protocols. Circzy uses the same library index as the Arduino IDE, installed through arduino-cli.
Built-in libraries
These libraries are already installed for everyone because Circzy's parts and blocks use them:
| Purpose | Libraries |
|---|---|
| Displays | LiquidCrystal, LiquidCrystal I2C, Adafruit GFX Library, Adafruit SSD1306, Adafruit SH110X, Adafruit PCD8544 Nokia 5110 LCD library, Adafruit ILI9341, TM1637, LedControl, Adafruit NeoPixel |
| Sensors | DHT sensor library, Adafruit Unified Sensor, Adafruit MPU6050, Adafruit BMP280 Library, Adafruit BME280 Library, Adafruit ADXL345, Adafruit HMC5883 Unified, MAX6675 library, Adafruit INA219, HX711 Arduino Library, OneWire, DallasTemperature |
| Input & communication | Keypad, IRremote, MFRC522, TinyGPSPlus, RTClib, PCF8574, Adafruit MCP23017 Arduino Library, Adafruit BusIO |
| Motors & storage | Servo, ESP32Servo, Stepper, AccelStepper, SD |
Libraries that come with a board core, such as Wire, SPI, EEPROM, SoftwareSerial, and Preferences (ESP32), are always available. On ESP32/ESP8266, WiFi, WebServer, HTTPClient, BluetoothSerial, ESPmDNS, and DNSServer are replaced by Circzy virtual network versions, and PubSubClient, ArduinoJson, and NTPClient are always available.
The Library Manager
Open the Library Manager tab in the editor.
Searching
Type a name or keyword in Search Arduino libraries... and press Search. The results show the library name, author, latest version and a short description. Quick suggestions (Servo, LiquidCrystal I2C, DHT sensor library, Adafruit SSD1306, Keypad, FastLED) are available before you search.
Installing
Click Install next to a library. The compile server downloads it with its dependencies. When it is done, a confirmation appears and the library moves to Installed libraries.
Installed libraries
The Installed libraries list shows everything added beyond the board cores, with its version.
Using a library
Add the library's #include line at the top of your sketch:
#include <Wire.h>
#include <LiquidCrystal_I2C.h>
LiquidCrystal_I2C lcd(0x27, 16, 2);
void setup() {
lcd.init();
lcd.backlight();
lcd.print("Hello, Circzy!");
}
void loop() {}
Libraries are shared by all your projects, because they are installed on the compile server.
Libraries and simulated parts
A library compiles for any part, but only produces visible results when Circzy simulates the hardware it talks to. Each part in the Parts Reference is tested with the common library for that part. A library for an unsupported chip compiles fine but reads no data, just as if the chip were not connected.
